Celebrities and Athletes Who Meditate
 

Many celebrities and athletes are turning to meditation to reduce stress, ease the anxiety, and improve concentration. Barbara Walters, Oprah Winfrey, Russel Brand, Tina Turner, David Lynch and many other celebrities are all known to have discovered the benefits of meditation.
 
“I tried to learn to meditate,” Walters said. “They said that it makes you centered and I feel very centered--- I love you all, I’m very happy.”
 

 
Professional athletes in the sports world are also turning to meditation—which has been shown to reduce stress and improve focus—to boost their game and ease the anxiety of high-pressure performances.
 
Athletic greats Joe Namath, Barry Zito and Arthur Ashe have spoken out about the benefits of meditation as a tool for athletic success. And even entire teams have been turning to visualization and mindfulness practices.
