Announcement of the Ceremony to the Buddha
We take homage the great Shakyamuni Buddha, the fully enlightened and omnipresent one with boundless wisdom who guides all sentient beings of the triple realm.
We all gathered here today for the Inauguration Ceremony of 26th WFB, 17th WFBY, and 9th WBU Conference. This General Conference will take place during the 2012 Yeosu International Expo from the 11 to 16 June B.E. 2012 (B.E. 2556) in Yeosu City, Korea. The representatives from the various regional centers all over the world will participate and the 6th District Temple of the Jeonam North and South Province of the Jogye Order will take the central role in preparation of the event. We ask for blessings from the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the universe, so that we may successfully hold the WFB Korea General Conference.
There is no doubt that The 2012 World Fellowship of Buddhist Conference will leave a significant mark on 1700 years of Korean Buddhist tradition and history. The Venerables and the lay Buddhists from the Head and Branch Temples of the 6th District of the Jogye Order, along with Buddhists all over the world will participate in this auspicious international conference.
We make sincere aspiration prayer that the topic of “Buddhist Ecological Environmental Thoughts & Practices for the 21st Century” may earnestly be discussed so that we may come up withpractical solutions to aid the mother earth.
With the confirmation from to the Supreme Patriarch of Jogye Order and support from the President of Jogye Order (Honorary President of the WFB Conference), we will make a successful 2012 WFB Korea Conference. This Conference will not only demonstrate beautiful Korean Buddhist Culture to the world, but the distinct characteristics of Honam District Buddhist tradition will be revealed. On this auspicious occasion, I pray that the power of the Triple Gems and the Lord Buddha will bless all participants so that we may all come together in fraternity to share our opinions and convey the results of the conference to the entire world. We sincerely wish that this Conference will contribute to the happiness of all sentient beings.

우주에 편만하여 아니 계신 곳이 없고 지혜가 한량없어 일체삼라만상에 두루 하시는 삼계의 대도사이시고 사생의 자부이신 석가모니부처님께 삼가 계수정례하옵니다.
오늘 우리들은 2012년 여수엑스포기간에 개최되는 WFB 제26차 WFBY 제17차, WBU 제 9차 한국대회가 대한불교조계종 호남 6본사가 주축이 되어 이곳 여수에서 2012년 6월 11일부터 16일까지 세계불교도들이 참가한 가운데 열리게 되어 그 출범식을 거행하면서 제불보살님 전에 WFB 대회의 성공적인 개최를 기원하고자 이 자리에 모여 고하나이다.
한국불교 1천 7백년사에 길이 남을 세계불교도대회에 즈음하여, 대한불교조계종 호남 6본사와 말사 주지스님들과 대중들은 한결같은 동체대비의 정신으로 세계 각국에서 온 불교대표들과 더불어서 부처님의 정법선양과 광도중생의 서원을 다짐하며 인류의 생태환경문제를 진지하게 토론하여 대안을 강구하는 법석을 마련하고자 삼가 부처님과 제불보살님들에게 알리오니 섭수하여 이 대회가 원만하게 회향될 수 있도록 가피를 주옵소서!
2012 WFB 한국대회의 성공적인 개최를 위하여 위로는 대한불교조계종 종정예하를 증명으로 총무원장스님을 명예대회장으로 모시고 한국불교문화선양은 물론 호남불교의 오랜 전통과 특색을 세계불교들인 법 형제들에게 보여줌으로써 일불제자들로서의 우의를 다지는데 최선을 다할 것을 삼가 부처님 전에 발원하면서 고하나니, 부처님께옵서는 무량한 자비광명과 감로법우로써 살펴주옵소서!
