The Nine Mountains Zen Gate Society, a Korean Buddhist temple based in Toronto, Canada, was established in 1976. It was recognized as a branch temple of Tongdo-sa in 1986, with Ven. Yangil becoming the abbot in September of the same year. In 1996, the temple underwent a name change to the Nine Mountains Zen Gate Society and relocated its premises. After a decade of dedicated Dharma propagation efforts, the temple settled in a new building acquired in 2009. The temple serves a community of approximately 20 Korean-Canadian templegoers who participate in the Sunday Dharma service. Additionally, Saturday is reserved for the Seon meditation class for the local Buddhists, which also consists of around 20 members.
