Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
The Korean Buddhism Jongbopsa Society Inc.
The Korean Buddhism Jongbopsa Society Inc. was established in 1991 by Ven. Gihwu through the merger of two pre-existing temples, Dalma-sa and Bulgwang-sa Temples. Situated in Sydney, it is the largest Korean Buddhist temple in Australia, contributing to the prominence of Korean Buddhism in the region. Amidst the prevalence of Theravada Buddhism in the area, the Korean Buddhism Jongbopsa Society Inc., or Jongbopsa, firmly establishes itself as a stronghold of Mahayana Buddhism. It plays a pivotal role in the global expansion of Korean Buddhism and offers a range of programs for its followers, including regular Sunday Dharma services, meditation sessions, a youth group, a choir, and a Korean language school.
