Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Sambosa
Sambosa, the first Korean Buddhist temple ever established in the United States, was founded by lay Buddhist Lee Hang-sang in 1973. In 1995, the temple came under the stewardship of Master Cheonghwa, with his disciples overseeing its management ever since. The surroundings of Sambosa evoke the natural splendor of Korea, and as the temple is located in the Carmel area, renowned for its resorts, Sambosa consistently draws a steady stream of visitors.
