Established in 1989, Sam Bul Sa in Minnesota moved to its current location in 1990. Since then, the temple has become a center for Korean-American Buddhists in Minnesota to propagate Korean Buddhism. Currently, a 2nd reconstruction project is underway on 4 acres of land on which dharma halls and subsidiary facilities are being built. The temple's followers consist of diverse classes of Korean-Americans. The temple offers Sunday dharma assemblies and Zen practice on Friday, in addition to annual events on Buddha's Birthday, 100-day prayer sessions, and a special ceremony on Ullambana.
