Jungmyungsa

Jungmyungsa was founded in 1995 in Koreatown, Flushing, New York, under the guidance of Ven. Gilsang, and the temple's name and plaque were bestowed by Ven. Cheonghwa. The temple underwent its first relocation in 1997. However, it wasn't until 2007, with the concerted efforts of the monastic sangha and the lay community, that it transitioned from a residential building to a proper temple structure. The abbot's unwavering commitment to a 10,000-day prayer ritual from 2004 to 2007 played an important role. Currently, the temple conducts Sunday services with an average of about 20 attendees and offers yoga classes on Saturdays and Sundays.
