Hanmaum Seonwon Deutschland e.v. was founded in 1996 in Kaarst, North Rhine-Westphalia, with the unwavering vision of Master Daehaeng. Since its establishment, the center has been primarily dedicated to serving the local German community, conducting Dharma services in both German and Korean, aided by simultaneous interpretation. The center provides a wide range of practice sessions, including Sunday Dharma services, which attract around 50 participants, and Wednesday Seon meditation sessions. It also actively engages with various groups, including youth, students, and children. Hanmaum Seonwon Deutschland e.v. is committed to integrating the essential principles of Buddhism into everyday life, adapting them to contemporary contexts, aligning them with scientific understanding, and embracing a global perspective. The center also participates in cultural activities, such as traditional samullori, percussion performances, tea ceremonies, music concerts, and pilgrimages to sacred sites in Korea, introducing and sharing Korean culture with both the local German and Korean communities.
