Ven. Maya founded Jundungsa as a refuge for Korean Americans experiencing the challenges and isolation of immigrant life in a country without Buddhism. The temple hosts regular Sunday Dharma services attended by more than 60 participants and runs a youth group with 12 young adults. Furthermore, Jundungsa provides meditation classes for the local non-Korean community. It also offers a variety of programs and activities and programs, including a Korean language school, traditional percussion performances, choir, and more.
