Most Ven. Jinwoo, the 37th President of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, was elected as the Order’s 38th President. Immediately after his election, he visited the Daeungjeon Hall at Jogye Temple, where he performed a ritual to inform the Buddha of his election and offered three bows.

After completing the ceremony, Most Ven. Jinwoo emphasised, “I will listen with humility so that no one is left behind, and I will work together with the districts and my senior and junior colleagues to open a new future for the Order. 'I will seek consensus, unite through empathy, and act with a selfless heart. I will devote every effort to strengthening the monastic community, stabilizing the Order, and invigorating Buddhism, thereby ushering in a new century for Korean Buddhism.”
