The preparation meeting for the 17th China-South Korea-Japan Buddhist Goodwill Conference
The 17th China-South Korea-Japan Buddhist Goodwill Conference will be held on November 19-20, 2014 at the Mt. Dorasan Observatory in Paju City, South Korea.
The Association of Korean Buddhist Orders, Buddhist Association of China, and Japan-China-South Korea International Buddhist Exchange Council had the first preparation meeting at the Jinkwansa Temple, Seoul on March 26th to confirm the conference dates, location, and the theme of the Conference.
On the first day (November 18th), a dinner banquet will be held to welcome the delegates, followed by the International Academic Seminar on the second day (November 19th) under the theme of ‘Buddhist Ideology and Practice of Peace.’ Korea is the only remaining nation in the world which is still divided and yet to be unified. This year’s conference will be a meaning gathering to bring peace and reunification in Korean peninsula.
This year’s pre-conference was attended by Ven. Hongpa, Secretary-General of the Association of Korean Buddhist Orders, and Ven. Hakseong from the Buddhist Association of China, Ven. Tazi Norio from the Japan-China-South Korea International Buddhist Exchange Council, and 25 Buddhist delegates from three countries have attended this year’s pre-conference.
