At the board meeting of the Association of Korean Buddhism Orders, Ven. Jinwoo, President of the Jogye Order, requested members to arouse "support and cooperation for the upcoming Great Dharma Rally of Korean Buddhists"

At the 1st board meeting of the Association of Korean Buddhism Orders, held on March 26, Ven. Jinwoo, President of the Jogye Order, said that he would instill peace in the hearts of the people by holding the 2024 Great Dharma Rally of Korean Buddhists and the International Seon Meditation Assembly in the second half of this year, and requested much support and cooperation from the association's members.

Association of Korean Buddhism Orders (hereafter, KBOA), in which 30 Buddhist sects participate, held its 1st board of directors meeting and 61st regular general meeting of 2024 at the international conference hall on the 2nd floor of the Korean Buddhist History and Culture Memorial Hall.

In his greeting, Ven. Jinwoo, who is also president of the KBOA, emphasized that he would open the way to popularizing Seon meditation by holding the Great Dharma Rally of Korean Buddhists and the International Seon Meditation Assembly.

Ven. President Jinwoo said, “Buddhism is a treasure trove of complex heritage that combines culture, nature, and spiritual culture, and among them, Seon meditation is a sure way to heal the emotional pain of the people and help them find peace of mind and happiness,” and he encouraged members of the KBOA to show interest and support.

On this day, Ven. Jinwoo said, "The government and the medical community are currently experiencing a severe conflict over a proposed increase in the number of medical school students," and added, "Patients and families should not suffer from this conflict. As can be seen in the appeal to the medical community issued jointly by members of the KBOA, we hope that through negotiation and wise proposals from both sides, all citizens will be able to receive medical treatment with peace of mind as soon as possible." He added that the Buddhist community will also work with them to resolve this conflict.

He also said that in this election year, we must all contribute to national harmony and national development through fair and honest elections. "This year is also an election year in many foreign countries, and we should elect members to the National Assembly who represent the will of the people in the general election next month." He added, "The Buddhist community hopes that this election will be held in a fair and transparent manner, and that true representatives of the people will be elected who will contribute to national harmony and national development."

On this day, before the board meeting, Ven. President Jinwoo donated a sum of 10 million won to the president of the Korea Federation of College Student Buddhists in support of dharma propagation for future generations.

On the same day, the Korea-Japan Buddhist Cultural Exchange Council (Chairman Jinwoo) also held its 44th regular general meeting and decided to participate in the 41st Korea-Japan Buddhist Cultural Exchange Conference to be held in Japan to promote friendship between Korea and Japan.

The Korea-Japan Buddhist Cultural Exchange Conference will be held at Zojoji Temple in Tokyo, Japan, from June 25th to 28th under the theme,"The Rapidly Changing World Order and the Possibilities for Buddhism." As an international exchange project, the first youth exchange conference will be held in Japan by setting a date in July or August, and the Korea-Japan Buddhist Women's Exchange Conference will be held in Korea in November.
