On April 26, delegations from the Soto Shu in Japan and Fo Guang Shan Monastery in Taiwan met with Most Ven. Jinwoo, the president of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, in the reception room on the fourth floor of the Korean Buddhist History and Culture Memorial Hall. Ven. Jingyeong, the director of the Social Affairs Office, and Ven. Ilgam, the chief of staff, also attended the meeting.

The Japanese delegation included the Soto Shu Secretary General, Ven. Hattori Shusei; the Director of General Affairs, Ven. Entsu Yoshiki; a member of the Soto Shu Central Council, Ven. Jinno Tetsu; the manager of the International Department, Ven. Kushida Toshimichi; and Ven. Hyeun. The Taiwanese Fo Guang Shan Monastery was represented by Ven. Hyejeon, head of the monastery’s disciplinary committee, and Ven. Hyejo, the abbot of Fo Guang Shan Monastery’s Seoul branch temple.   

Following the meeting, 150 members of the Japanese Buddhist delegation and the Fo Guang Buddhist Youth Association from Taiwan participated in the lotus lantern parade, illuminating the nighttime streets of Seoul with the Buddha's compassion.
