New Jersey Wonjuksa Temple(Abbot Ven. Seonghyang) held a New Year's Dharma Assembly and sunrise event on January 1st. 

On this day, amidst the attendance of around 40 followers, traditional Buddhist rituals such as Tong-al and prayers were conducted. They departed the temple at 6:30 a.m. to hold a sunrise event at George Freyman Park to welcome the New Year. When they came back to the temple with hopes and wishes for the New Year, they shared reflections and enjoyed breakfast of sliced rice cake soup.
