Since July, Ven. Suseong, a Korean Buddhist monk serving as a chaplain at the United States Military Academy (West Point), has been teaching meditation to new cadets attending Buddhist events.

He has focused on teaching “Mental Fitness Training” based on mindfulness as a tool to help cadets undergoing basic training relieve stress and build greater resilience. To date, a total of 120 cadets have participated in his class.

“Seeing cadets discover inner peace through meditation is very rewarding,” said the Buddhist chaplain.
