Bulkwang Zen Center in New York (Senior Teacher: Ven. Hwigwang) designated September 7th as Filial Piety Day, in celebration of one of Korea's most beautiful traditional virtues. While celebrating the birthdays of Ven. Hwigwang and Ven. Daeseong, the head of the center, the Bulkwang community also honored senior lay practitioners of the One Heart Society and other elderly devotees by treating them to a delicious meal and sharing a joyful time.

Bulkwang Zen Center announced that they will hold Filial Piety Day at the temple every September from now on.
