Hanam Jungwon (1876~1951), “Seven character poem,” 1942, 124 x 33.6 cm, Yonghwa-sa collection.

From the outset, one arises spontaneously without fabrication
Why do you search outside for some separate miraculous power?
If the mind is simply rid of useless thoughts
When thirsty drink tea, when tired sleep

This seven character poem was written by Hanam in the autumn of 1942, given to Meditation Master Mukdam.
