Having enshrined Amitabha Buddha as the temple’s main object of worship,
Eunhaesa is known as the major temple for Amitabha worship among the
district head temples. The name “Eunhaesa (lit. Silver Ocean Temple)” is
derived from the impression it gives of a silvery sparkling ocean in the Pure
Land where numerous buddhas, bodhisattvas, and arhats stand in row upon
row. The temple also operates a monastic graduate school.
