Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Myungwolsa
Myungwolsa, founded in 1975 through the dedication of its founder Ven. Beopin, and the support of Korean-Japanese lay Buddhist Mr. Kim Yeong-jo, was constructed on a 150-square-meter plot of land, marked by a consecration and opening ceremony. The temple regularly conducts Dharma services, with an average of around 20 overseas Korean students in attendance. Additionally, Myungwolsa offers spiritual guidance to practitioners and organizes Dharma ceremonies on the first day of every lunar month, All Souls’ Day (Ullambane), the winter solstice, and the summer solstice. It actively engages in propagating Dharma not only among Korean-Japanese but also among the local community, regardless of Korean background, contributing to the promotion of Korean Buddhism.
