Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Hanmaum Seon Center of Thailand
The Hanmaum Seon Center of Thailand, established on Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok, in early 1999 at the request of Korean Buddhists to Master Daehaeng, is the first Korean Buddhist temple in Thailand. It later relocated to Ekkamai and became a center for Korean Buddhists in Bangkok. The temple actively engages with the Thai community, functioning as a bridge to introduce the teachings of Korean Buddhism, emphasizing the Mahayana tradition. It organizes events, including flea markets, to raise funds for scholarships for Korean and Thai students and to support orphanages. Additionally, the temple holds regular Dharma services, practice meetings, and sutra reading sessions. The Hanmaum Seon Center of Thailand offers support and guidance to Korean Buddhists facing various challenges in Thailand, helping them incorporate meditation practice into their daily lives.
