Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Hyeahn meditation Center
Hyeahn Meditation Center, established in 1999, had its beginnings in a small apartment in September 1998, with the aim of opening the eyes of the wisdom that is the aspiration of all Buddhists. The temple’s name "Hyeahn," which translates to "eyes of wisdom," reflects its foundational aspiration. Committed to propagating the Buddha's teachings to the community, Hyeahn Meditation Center conducts Sunday Dharma services with a congregation of around 15 participants. Additionally, the center conducts prayer rituals such as Cibei daochang chanfa, a form of repentance practice rooted in Chinese scriptures. To foster a sense of community, the temple organizes weekly hiking outings. Furthermore, in collaboration with local artists, the temple adorns its premises with paintings and ceramic art, resulting in a distinctive ambiance that combines the atmosphere of a temple with that of an art gallery.
