Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Hanmaum Seon Center of Los Angeles
In December 1990, the Hanmaum Seon Center of Los Angeles was founded at the residence of a dedicated follower living in Los Angeles. The establishment of this center was inspired by the visits of Master Daehaeng to the USA during the late 1980s. The Korean-American Buddhist community, deeply moved by Master Daehaeng's teaching earnestly requested her to establish a branch of the Hanmaum Seon Center in Los Angeles. The center underwent several relocations before settling in its present location in July 2001. In 2013, it was restructured with the expansion of the temple facilities. The Hanmaum Seon Center of Los Angeles conducts regular Dharma services every Sunday, in addition to hosting a variety of Dharma activities tailored to different age groups. These include a youth group, Soso-hui for templegoers aged over 67, and a children's Dharma class. The members of the temple are dedicated to upholding Master Daehaeng's vision and teachings by actively engaging in the study and practice of Buddhism.
