Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Junghyesa
In 1980, the congregation leased an office in Orange County, California, where they established Junghyesa by placing a plaque. Following three relocations, Venerable Seokta took on the role of abbot in 2002. In 2008, the temple purchased a building and relocated to its current premises. Junghyesa sees over 100 attendees at its weekly Sunday and Friday Dharma services, including about 30 students who participate in student-focused Dharma sessions. Additionally, the temple conducts Dharma and Korean language schools on Sunday afternoons. It also organizes Buddhist holiday events and maintains a Buddhist choir, fostering a sense of community among templegoers and the local population.
