Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Bohyunsa
Bohyunsa in Florida traces its roots to Jukrim Jeongsa, which was established by the aspiring Buddhist community in the early 1990s when Ven. Bulsim Domun visited the Miami area to spread Dharma. In 1998, the temple moved to its present location and officially became known as Bohyunsa. Ven. Dobeop from Munsusa Buddhist Temple assumed the role of senior teacher, with Ven. Gwangmin serving as the abbot. Despite its modest size, Bohyunsa holds a significant place as the sole Korean temple in Florida. It is highly valued by the Korean Buddhist community and local meditation groups. The temple regularly hosts 20 to 30 participants for Sunday services and engages in outreach programs with approximately 10 individuals. Furthermore, it arranges local meditation gatherings for those who may not have a Korean background.
