Hanmaum Zen Center of Chicago
The Hanmaum Zen Center of Chicago was founded on March 30, 1991, in response to the requests and aspirations of Buddhists in the Chicago area. The center has been dedicated to guiding its members to trust in the Buddha's teaching that their own mind is inherently enlightened and to actualize this truth through practice. Following the teachings of Master Daehaeng, who introduced effective meditation methods suitable for the modern era, practitioners diligently cultivate their minds through everyday activities. The center hosts regular Dharma services every Sunday, drawing a congregation of 20 to 30 attendees. Additionally, students, with a limited number not exceeding 10, come together for a student Dharma group.
