Hanmaum Zen Center of New York Inc
Master Daehaeng was invited to lead a Dharma assembly in New York in 1989, and subsequently, in response to the Korean Buddhist community's request, the Hanmaum Zen Center of New York Inc. was founded on December 10, 1989, at its current location. The center expanded by acquiring neighboring houses in 1996 and 1999 and completed the construction of the main Buddha Hall in October 2015. It regularly conducts Sunday Dharma services with around 75 participants and supports practice groups for men, women, and youth. Moreover, it offers Korean language classes every Sunday. Adapting to the changing societal and environmental landscape, the center is committed to sharing Buddhist teachings in accordance with modernization, science, and evolving lifestyles, not only with the Korean community but also with other ethnic groups.
