Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism
Songgwangsa Pogyowon
Songgwangsa Pohyowon in Indonesia has its origins in 2005 when a group of Indonesian Koreans established a small temple. In 2009, the temple was designated as a branch of Songgwangsa and renamed Goryeo Jeong-sa. Subsequently, in 2017, it relocated to Tangerang, Banten, and in March 2019, it became Songgwangsa Pohyowon. This temple serves as a center for promoting Korean Buddhism to both the Korean community and non-Korean residents. It hosts Sunday Dharma services, typically attended by around 20 practitioners who engage in meditation and the recitation of Buddhist sutras. Additionally, regular Dharma services are held on the first day of each lunar month.
